It is the basis for the accredited e‐Stewards certification program and was developed in a multi‐stakeholder process with experts and leaders in related fields. It is consistent with international waste trade laws (Basel Convention and OECD treaties), NIST data privacy requirements of customers, environmental and health and safety management system norms, occupational health and safety best practices, and social accountability values.1
